About me:
My desire to explore is manifested in the various forms and materials I use to create. The process and experimentation with materials and concepts are integral to the work I produce and my drive to persist.

River East Art Center

www.rivereastartcenter.comOur work explores the cultural perception and history of the Mexican Day of the Dead altar. We present not an altar, but its residue. Examining the origins, transformation and continuing development of this cultural tradition into contemporary life, we consider, What is new? What has been abandoned? We refer not solely to physical materials but also to it's intentions and sentiments. From somber to celebratory, assimilation and reinterpretations of the tradition are as diverse as the Mexican culture itself, as it spans throughout Mexico and the US.
